Michelle Goodkey is an experienced business strategist and senior advisor specializing in energy project development, helping organizations advance major energy, pipeline, petrochemical, and facility projects through effective government relations consulting, stakeholder engagement, ESG leadership, and sustainable business strategy. With over 25 years of experience across government, industry, and consulting, she collaborates with companies, Indigenous communities, and government agencies to navigate complex project development challenges while building trusted long-term partnerships.
As Managing Principal of Good Synergies, Michelle provides clients with expertise in government and regulatory relations, Indigenous partnerships, stakeholder engagement, ESG metrics, economic reconciliation, and business development strategy. Her work spans all phases of energy project development — from early engagement and permitting to operational execution — ensuring alignment between business goals, regulatory requirements, and community expectations.
Throughout her career, Michelle has led complex multi-party negotiations, secured regulatory approvals, developed ESG reporting frameworks, designed multi-million-dollar Indigenous inclusion programs, and advised executive leadership teams on project advancement and sustainability. She is known for her ability to bridge diverse interests, simplify complex challenges, and deliver practical solutions that drive both business success and community trust.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Natural Resource Management (Forestry) and a Certificate in First Nation Studies: Aboriginal Community Resource Planning from the University of Northern British Columbia, and is completing Public Relations studies at the University of Calgary. She has also completed extensive training in leadership development, project management, negotiation, facilitation, media relations, and crisis communications.
